Perhaps Nikon support should learn a little more about the specifc camera models instead of giving you a generic answer. If the camera is in Mass Storage it will not be detected because it lists it as a Removable Device."īut i have looked all through the camrea for this option and cannot find it! I have replyed back to themask for a step-by-step to find it.
The PTP driver will list the camera as a Camera device. In order to shoot tethered to the computer you need to have the camera in PTP mode under USB in the Setup Menu.
"Thank you for contacting Nikon Technical Support. This is the reply i got from Nikon when i explain it to them, The fact that you've tried two different OS now and it's not working may lead to the issue being with the camera itself. Installing Nikon Transfer fixed that problem. Before installing the Nikon Transfer, plugging the camera in and grabbing the photos only gave me TWO JPG of the same photo. I had selected the option where each shot generated one RAW and one JPG. I noticed something strange when I attempted to plug my camera into my PC before installing the Nikon Transfer software. Maybe if those were installed already it would help you out. I haven't tried it yet myself, but I'm curious.ĭid you first try installing the other Nikon software that came with the camera? Im using the USB cable that came with the camera.Īnd i tried both the front ports. So i should disable autorun? or have it enabled? hm, have you tried another cable and/or port? corrupt driver (check device manager)? I have ccpro2 running on vista ultimate, no issues. Just a thought: do you have auto-run disabled? considering that "auto-run" behavior has recently been targeted as a "social-engineering" type vulnerability, i was just wondering. I'm hoping that some one here can help me. Ive researched it every where and yet to find a working answer. en-us/library/ms792271.aspxīut I'm still not sure what I'm meant to be doing. I did some reading on PTP Driver creation but i have installed it on both Vista and XP, and its saying "No camera was detected" is there any way I can fix this?
and was flicking through the manual and it mentions Camera Control Pro 2, so i downloaded a copy of it and I'm using it as a trial for now.
